We are so excited to be Ambassadors for the Durham City Runs. I’m often asked why I run pushing Alice and it’s simple she just loves it! Nearly five years ago as we started on our running journey I had no idea it would become such a huge part of our lives, it is the one thing we can do together where Alice is included and welcomed especially by the Events Of The North team just like every other athlete. Alice is an adult with complex needs and there are so many things she can’t do and skills that she has lost but taking part in races is something she can do. Alice loves nothing more than a race atmosphere and we have increased our distances right up to a full marathon. As beautiful as it is running along trails, I’m always happiest to get the road wheels on for a nice flat road race.
