IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES

Events of the North are pleased to be working with Durham County Council to bring you the 2024 Durham City Run 10K and 5K. Races will start at Framwelgate Waterside, with the finish returning to Palace Green.

Events of the North have worked closely with Durham County Council to define and approve a rolling road closure programme to minimise disruption to residents and businesses. Please be aware that bus routes will be affected and diversions will be in place; please contact the bus companies for full details.

ROAD CLOSURES – TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE

As a consequence of the below roads being closed, all junctions with any of the aforementioned roads will also be closed for the safety of the runners. Please see below route map.

AFFECTED ROADS ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN PURPLE ON THE MAP BELOW

Wherever possible we will endeavour to make sure that access is made available when it is safe to do so, access for the emergency services will be maintained at all times. Marshalls will operate at all key junctions and wherever possible will allow access for residents when it is safe to do so. They will be as flexible as they can be but we appreciate your understanding if this involves some delay. Please contact us if you have any specific issues which cannot be addressed on the day. We would appreciate your co-operation and understanding during the race.

ACCESS FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES TO ALL AREAS WILL BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES.
